Frequently Asked Questions Q: When will my automobile be available? A: Once the vessel arrives, your automobile should be available on the 2nd business day. Q: When is my vehicle available for pick up? A: The pier is open Mon-Fri 8:00-11:45 AM & 1:00- 4:30 PM Q: Once my vessel has arrived what do I need to do? A: You will need to come to Houston first to pick up your releases and delivery order. Then you will go to the pier to pick up your automobile. Once your automobile arrives, the Pier grants ten (10) consecutive days to pick up your automobile. Then storage begins based on the following:
Every 5 days, storage increases $2.50 until the automobile is picked up. Storage charges must be paid at the steamship line Wallenius Wilhelm in Galveston, TX before they will release the vehicle. E. R. Hawthorne is not responsible for paying storage fees. Q: Does E. R. Hawthorne provide transportation to pick up the vehicle? A: E.R. Hawthorne & Co. does not provide transportation to our office or to the pier. All estimated times of arrival (ETAs) are estimated and is subject to change; E.R. Hawthorne has no control over the steamship line or over the pier hours of operation.
